PrepperNet Zello Net Instructions

The Zello Net will be run just like a HAM Radio Controlled Net like the PrepperNet 2M Nets
The Net Control Operator (NCO) is the only one allowed to talk until someone is asked to talk by the NCO.
The Net will be announced at 7:55pm by the NCO and ask for a clear channel at 8pm
At 8pm the NCO will announce the Net and read a preamble which describes how the Net will operate
Listen carefully to the instructions
The NCO will typically announce a “Word of the Week” (WOTW)
Remember it or write it down to use when you “Check-in”
Typically a “Topic for Discussion” will be given
Start thinking of what you want to say on the Topic when it is your turn to talk after checkins
Once all the preamble and announcements are given the NCO will ask for “Check-ins”
Each person on the net will “Check-in” one at a time and wait for the NCO to acknowledge their “Check-in”.
You “Checkin” with the following info in this exact order:
1.) First Name and first letter of your last name =Eric P or a made up “Code Name”= Pyro
2.) General Location i.e. “Mills River, NC”
3.) Repeat the WOTW given at the start
The NCO will say back “First Name & Lettter” or “Code Name” and “Checked In”
Then the next person checks in taking turns and so on until everyone is checked in
The NCO will keep a running list of the check ins
Once the check ins stop or there is a long pause between checkins the NCO will call:
“Straight Up Check ins are Closed”
At this time the NCO will go to the top of the list and “Call” the first person for checked in
This first person then has the floor and starts with:
“This is Eric P (or Pyro) from Asheville NC”
Then give your comments on the Topic keeping it under 60 seconds
When you’re finished say “Back to Net”
The NCO may discuss what you said and make a few comments
Then the NCO will call the next person on the list and so on and so forth until all the Straight Ups are called
The NCO will then reread pertinent sections of the Preamble and repeat the WOTW
Then the NCO will call for “Late Check-ins”
The process will repeat until all the late check ins have their turn
After everyone has had their turn the NCO may end the Net or open it up to Comments.
If you want to comment say “Comment” and wait to be agnowledged by the NCO
The NCO will say “Comment Go”
Make a brief comment and finish with “Back to Net”
When things seem to wrapping up or it gets too late the NCO will close the Net
You can then talk amoung who stays on to talk into the wee hours of the night
The PrepperNet Zello channel is always available 24/7 if you want to have a group chat.
All the formal Nets will be held starting at 8pm, the Nets have priority over chat
